Immunogen
Swiss Prot Num:
P37023
Immunogen:
The immunogen for anti-ACVRL1 antibody: synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal of human ACVRL1. Synthetic peptide located within the following region: SPHCKGPTCRGAWCTVVLVREEGRHPQEHRGCGNLHRELCRGRPTEFVNH.
GeneID:
94
Application WB
Background ACVRL1 is a type I cell-surface receptor for the TGF-beta superfamily of ligands. It shares with other type I receptors a high degree of similarity in serine-threonine kise subdomains, a glycine- and serine-rich region (called the GS domain) preceding the kise domain, and a short C-termil tail. ACVRL1, sometimes termed ALK1, shares similar domain structures with other closely related ALK or activin receptor-like kise proteins that form a subfamily of receptor serine/threonine kises. This gene encodes a type I cell-surface receptor for the TGF-beta superfamily of ligands. It shares with other type I receptors a high degree of similarity in serine-threonine kise subdomains, a glycine- and serine-rich region (called the GS domain) preceding the kise domain, and a short C-termil tail. The encoded protein, sometimes termed ALK1, shares similar domain structures with other closely related ALK or activin receptor-like kise proteins that form a subfamily of receptor serine/threonine kises. Mutations in this gene are associated with hemorrhagic telangiectasia type 2, also known as Rendu-Osler-Weber syndrome 2.
