General Terms

In these Terms and Conditions 'Acris' shall mean OriGene Technologies, Inc., DBA Acris Antibodies, Inc., 9620 Medical Center Drive, Suite 200, Rockville, MD 20850, USA. The Terms and Conditions set out below shall apply to Acris branded products and services and to products distributed by Acris on behalf of other suppliers.


All Acris customers are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions in their entirety when placing an order. Any arrangements differing from these terms need written confirmation by Acris. Domestic Orders will be accepted by fax, phone, mail or e-mail. International orders will be accepted in written form only (fax, mail, e-mail). All orders must contain the name of the person who is placing the order, phone and fax numbers.


Prices of products do not include freight and packing, VAT or import duties where these are applicable. Prices and other information provided are subject to change without notice, and prices may be changed up to the time of delivery. While every effort is made to keep information provided by Acris up to date, Acris will not be liable to any customer if errors should occur in information provided in this catalog or on the Acris website.


When an order is received Acris will confirm receipt by fax. However, formal acceptance of the order will only take place when the goods are dispatched. If prices should be changed between the time of receipt of an order and dispatch, Acris will contact the customer in advance. Orders received until 1:00 p.m. will be dispatched same day (stock products only). For products not in stock customers will find the expected date of delivery on the order confirmation. Acris reserves the right to ship orders via the best method which will insure the stability of the product, minimize freight costs and allow efficient order tracking. Freight charges for domestic and international orders are published on the Acris website ( These charges are subject to change without notice. Packaging and products should be inspected immediately upon receipt. Notification of damage, shortages or defects should be given immediately by e-mail, phone or fax.


Quality is a priority at Acris. However, should any product not perform as described in the product literature, it will be replaced. The buyer must notify Acris within 60 days after the goods have been received to request an exchange or replacement. If items are ordered incorrectly by the customer Acris may at its discretion take them back. This may be subject to a 25% restocking charge on the items plus any shipping costs. Requests for returns must have prior authorization and must be made within 7 days of receipt of the items. Items must be returned in the same or equivalent packaging (i.e. cold and insulated) as originally dispatched by Acris.


Acris will not be liable for any claims or applications not listed in the literature or the misuse of products. Acris cannot provide a guarantee for all applications for which a specific reagent may be used. Further, information disclosed in Acris product literature should not be considered as a recommendation to use its products in violation of any patents. Acris shall not be liable for its failure to perform any of its obligations resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Acris will notify its customers as soon as practically possible after it becomes aware of deficiencies in a product supplied. Any claim relating to products shall be limited to replacement or refund of original purchase price paid. Acris will not be liable (under contract, by negligence or any other way) for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the products or this Agreement and Acris total aggregate liability for any loss or damage in respect of the products or this Agreement will not exceed the amount paid for the products.


Invoices should be paid no later than 30 days after the invoice date, and customers must themselves pay any bank charges that are incurred in making the payment. Full payment instructions are set out on the invoice. A late charge of 5% above the basic interest rate of the FED on account balances over 30 days past due will be added to invoices from date of shipment.


Contracts and agreements with Acris shall in all respects be governed by and interpreted in accordance with USA law.
